Indian Brave Description:

The 1977 Palitoy Equipment Manual heralded the line thus: "New Wild West Adventure with Action Man. Indians, scouts, cavalrymen - they are all part of the new Wild West range. All just like the real thing". This was the only figure to wear a wig. The outfit was sold either complete with figure in a box or separately on an Locker Box outfit which included a belt and a rifle in addition. Other Figures in the Wild West Range were the 7th Cavalry outfit, Cowboy boxed figure, Scout, Indian Chief outfit, and a Horse (labeled Cavalry Charger or Indian Pony)

Notes:

The Indian Brave was a foe to the Cowboy / Scout and the 7th Cavalry figure. His 2 piece outfit is colourful and he wore brown slip on moccasins, and in the case of the carded outfit, had a rifle and bayonet in addition to the Tomahawk, and also a rather mis-matched khaki fabric belt more akin to that of the Royal Marines Exploration or Australian Jungle Fighter. The rifle used was borrowed from the French Foreign Legion but this time with a plastic Strap, and the bayonet had to double as a knife. The 1977 Indian Brave outfit card was of the 'Locker Box' type of the time, where the left hand box section could be removed from rest of card and used to place (force!) items of kit into as a storage option. An Indian Chief outfit was also available with a large head dress, bag, camp fire and peace pipe.
