Following the launch of the Action Footballer in 1968, a greater range of 'Sportsman' kit colours were available on these separate cards but without tracksuits. A separate blue tracksuit was launched - ready to wear over one of your 'custom' footballers. The famous football clubs were to already have their own tracksuit tops (no bottoms) with team name printed across back. The blue Action Man tracksuit also represented an opportunity as a change of colour (from orange) for the Olympic Champion of 1969. The tracksuit was the same pattern as for the Olympic Champion, with elasticated cuffs, ankles and waist. The zip only undoes to the waist (not all the way). They appear in the 1970 and 1971 Equipment Manual, but are not present in any other.
ACTION MAN SPORTSMAN TRACK SUIT: Tracksuit top, tracksuit bottoms, Equipment Manual.
The Action Man Tracksuit is two piece and the zip only does down to the waist meaning it has to stretch over both shoulders, and head - making for a recipe for over stretching if care not taken. The 'current' figure at time of launch was the flock haired, had hands figure. The badge was a paper sticker and are therefore usually tatty or missing. Buy replacements here
